Individual & Group Counseling

Individual and Group Counseling are provided by a full-time masters level Margaret’s Place counselor to students who have witnessed or experienced abuse.

A Violence Prevention Curriculum

Our Violence Prevention Curriculum entitled, Youth Empowered to Speak (YES), is taught over five weeks in 7th and 9th grade classrooms, and is designed to address specific knowledge objectives related to violence prevention and to empower young people to play a role in ending the cycle of violence.

School-Wide Awareness Campaigns

School-Wide Awareness Campaign mobilizes the entire school community around themes of respect and violence prevention.

Peer Leadership

Our Peer Leadership program empowers students to be the change in their lives and schools. Through campaigns and initiatives, students develop leadership skills while promoting healthy relationships and mutual respect. Peer Leadership increases their knowledge, self-efficacy, and ability to foster care and respect within their school community, growing as leaders committed to creating a supportive environment for all.

Staff Training

Staff Training provides teachers, administrators, and support personnel with an overview of domestic violence, how it impacts youth, and what to do if family violence is suspected.

Where We Work

Safe At Home has 30 Margaret’s Place program sites serving K-12 students across the country. This year, we have reached over 49,000 children, and since our inception, we have directly served over 275,000 young people, their families, schools, and communities.
